Accounts Payable Analyst

Position Description: Plans, organizes, and participates in the accounts payable operational activities using automated financial and procurement systems. ? Analyzes and maintains automated data and implementing policies and procedures that ensure the security and integrity of automated data. ? Coordinates with various departments and maintains records for account payables and receivables. ? Analyzes processes, recommends improvements and manage all internal controls on accounting documents. ? Reviews final documents in vendor close out packages for accuracy and payment to vendor ? Participates in analysis of accounts payable activities and provides technical advice, as needed. ? Monitors advanced appropriated fund disbursements; administers various payment programs. ? Conducts research for internal review and develops, prepares reports, charts and graphs to depict findings. ? Ensures that all PHA and HUD guidelines have been followed in the payment of invoices to vendors and suppliers. ? Stays abreast of trends and innovations in government accounting and public housing policies. ? Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and PHA information; performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills Required: Must have three (3) or more years experience in financial management or analysis, including government housing programs ? Interpreting and applying state and Federal accounting rules and regulations, and PHA policies. ? Analyzing financial issues, and developing recommendations and strategies. ? Reviewing and analyzing financial records and reports. ? Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. ? Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers. ? Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software. ? Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Experience Required: Must have three (3) or more years experience in financial management or analysis, including government housing programs

Education Required: Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Licenses Required: ?- A valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver's License ?- Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
