Description

Overall purpose of role: The role holder is responsible for all monthly reporting activities for BCUS regarding Impairment and Loss Provision for Consumer Lending. Given these responsibilities the role holder will work across functions (Finance, Business Line, Operations) to gather necessary data, incorporate business feedback, and communicate results. In addition to ensuring monthly reporting outputs satisfy & comply with financial reporting requirements (ex. SOX), the role holder will lead the setting of monthly delinquency targets and reporting of intra-month business performance against those targets for Consumer Lending.
Key Accountabilities and Skills required:
o Month-end Reporting (50%): Manage and execute the Risk delivery of monthly reporting of all impairment and loss provision results. The role holder must ensure necessary governance is followed in the delivery of these results (ex. SOX).
o Stakeholder Management (20%): Manage stakeholders through strong business relationships. Interface with a wide range of end-client staff to explain the benefits, limits, and requirements for results. Further, the role holder will often engage directly with internal and external auditors to ensure robust and accurate review.
o Forecast Development, Design, and Management (10%): Participate in overall project design and delivery with QRM's other functional teams and end-clients regarding impairment, loan loss reserves. The role holder will also work closely with Risk Analytic teams responsible for building loss models to ensure projects meet BCUS requirements and are implemented accurately.
o Analytic Support (10%): Supporting ad hoc analytic requests from internal stakeholders (ex. Finance, business line) and external stakeholders (ex. Regulators).
o Regulatory Awareness (10%): Ensure all stress test project deliverables comply with respective regulatory requirements. Proactively plan and deliver projects and capabilities ahead of new regulatory requirements.
Risk and Control Objective: All Brokerage Firm colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Brokerage Firm Policies and Policy Standards.
Your Skills and Qualifications will include
o Basic Qualifications
o Bachelor's Degree with quantitative analysis coursework (ex. Economics, statistics, accounting, finance)
o 3+ years working in Risk or Finance in a financial institution.
Preferred Qualifications
o Experience with the Project Management lifecycle and background in business Analysis
o Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience in dealing with MD level
o Sound time management and organizational skills
o Experience of working within a Risk discipline (e.g. Basel, data quality etc) preferred
o Experience conducting and/or leading business forecasting activities preferred
o Line management responsibility for analytic staff is preferred.
o Graduate education or a graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (ex. Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other hard science) is preferred.
o Certifications such as CFA, CPA, etc. are strongly preferred given business impact of role.
o Very strong hands on abilities with analytic software (such as SAS) to manage data, conduct analysis, and report results
