The Finance Transformation team within EXL Consulting practice is a world class, global professional services group dedicated to helping CFO's develop and execute winning strategies and to drive improvements in effectiveness across the Finance organization.

We are hiring seasoned Project Managers (PMs) in the Greater New York City area. This is a leadership position reporting to the Engagement Director. This person will lead service delivery for medium to large teams engaged in finance transformation engagements for global clients in the Insurance vertical.

PMs will design and execute key transformation projects to reduce cost of finance operations, standardize and streamline processes and enhance controls.

PMs will develop service delivery methodology and framework, establish a QA process and deliver projects on time and budget. The role requires working key stakeholders in the areas of Capital Planning, FP&A, Budgeting & Forecasting, Closing & Consolidation, Controllership, Actuarial, Finance Systems (SAP) and Financial Controls.

  • Advise clients on transforming finance organizations, by conducting current state assessments, developing gap assessments, and designing & implementing target state operating models or assessing the business case for major transformation initiatives
  • Document and analyze current state, identify standardization and improvement opportunities using Lean/Six Sigma & other process improvement methodologies and focus on all finance enablers, namely people, organization, processes and systems
  • Optimize end-to-end Finance and Risk processes, for example in the areas of Finance TOM, Finance Shared Services, Capital Planning, FP&A, Budgeting & Forecasting, Closing & Consolidation, Controllership, Actuarial, Finance Systems (SAP), Financial Controls
  • Determine the project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule
  • Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations
  • Work with the customer and end-users to define functional and technical requirements
  • Work with enterprise technology team to determine how finance systems are supported in production, including back-ups, disaster recovery, system performance, data migration and release

  • 6+ years of work experience driving business results
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Life insurance, annuities and asset management industry experience is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to apply process improvement and standardization, analytical and digital approaches to create meaningful and measurable business impact
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to conduct workshops at all levels within the client organization
  • Ability to anticipate & address client concerns & develop excellent client & internal relationships
  • Strong service delivery and quality orientation
  • Strong project management skills, flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel, Access or VBA will be an added advantage
