Position Description: They are looking for 2 Maintenance Technicians to start ASAP and work thru September 30th. Labor Category: Trades Title: Maintenance Field Worker . Purpose: Under close supervision, perform routine building maintenance tasks Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. 1. Tapes, floats, and textures sheetrock, hammers nails/stakes. 2. Measures using tapes, transits, levels, etc. 3. Moves furniture, file cabinets, equipment, changes light bulbs. 4. Paints, varnishes, and/or seals walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, equipment, etc using brushes, rollers, air sprayers, etc. 5. Installs and/or replaces floor and ceramic tiles. 6. Drives vehicles as needed, such as truck, pickup truck, etc. 7. Replaces glass in doors and windows, repairs and replaces door locks and knobs. 8. Performs unskilled carpentry work in the construction/repair of walls, ceilings, etc. Repairs and replace electric plugs and cords. Performs simple plumbing installations and repairs such as install or repair faucets, unclogs drains, replaces valves, etc. 9. Operates drills, buffers, grinders, sanders, power saws, radial arm, skill saw, etc. 10. Performs basic service on pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, etc repack, change oil and filters, lubricate, etc. Responsibilities Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:

Skills Required: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Knowledge of equipment, methods, and materials used in routine painting, carpentry and moderate levels of construction. Knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing. Knowledge of proper safety practices and procedures. Knowledge of the equipment, methods and materials used in ground maintenance. Knowledge of proper methods and procedures used in cleaning work area and equipment. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in planning and organizing. Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other City employees and the public.

Experience Required: two years of like kind work

Education Required: High School or higher
