Client is looking for an addition person to help with drafting new Safety Standards. Right now the position is funded for 20 hours a week for 6 weeks. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with a project team that consists of (State Safety Program Manager, Manager of Freight Planning and Services, Deputy Attorney General and Office of Regulatory Affairs) in determining all the documents required to update State Program Standards in accordance with a change to Federal regulations from CFR 49 Part 659 to CFR 49 Part 674. Work in conjunction with the team to develop, edit, and review State Standards in support of Federal Regulations CFR 49 Part 674 “State Safety Oversight”. Work in conjunction with management and support staff to write organizational procedures and policies needed to be in compliant with 49 CFR Part 674. Participate in organizational meetings to provide input and status updates Work independently to draft an update to the following types of documentation in a cohesive, logical, and understandable format: State Standards Standard Operating Procedures Work Instructions or Job Aids Checklists Training guidelines and materials, etc. Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson Gather information on rail safety subjects in libraries and on the web Write clear and concise policies and procedures Create table of contents and cite sources Provide updates and different editions to State Standards and Procedures as necessary
