Business Analyst Job Duties

? Works with client management to understand complex business requirements and processes, identify gaps, and translate them into solution requirements (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.).
? Researches and evaluates alternative solutions in alignment with architecture and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design considering current and future business needs, flexibility needs, existing systems, available technology, the capacity and limitations of equipment, operating time and form of desired results.
? Works with development, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure technical feasibility and user satisfaction. Influences the test strategy and execution to ensure an accurate and effective product.
? Prepares charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems, utilizing, if necessary, various business, scientific and/or engineering mathematical techniques. Analyzes existing system logic difficulties and revises the logic and procedures involved as necessary.
? Provides resolutions that are innovative, thorough, and practical to an extensive range of complicated problems
? Works under limited direction. Represents the organization as the principal contact for the project team on business process, requirements and often performs project leadership role.
? Interacts with the leadership team on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines.
? Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
? Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
? College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred. Typically, has 5 - 7 years related experience.

Responsibilities include:
? Review and analyze Business Data Requirements, Business Requirements and Data to elicit detailed data mapping requirements, including transformations, accurate system of record, relationships between the data, data integrity and constraints.
? Author the System Requirements, Data Requirements and Functional Design Documents.
? Manage the coordination of assigning resources to meet demand, schedules and goals of assigned projects.
? Decompose large, complex problems into smaller components that are easier to solve. Identify common themes across business needs that can be solved by developing re-usable solutions that can be shared across the organization.
? Maintain responsibility for the overall requirements delivery for assigned projects.
? Proactively manage issues and risks and provide resolutions.
? Frequently interact with directors, subordinate supervisors, business customers and/or functional peer group managers.
? Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
? Drive key requirement decisions.
? Act as mentor to junior team members.

? Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent work experience
? 5-7 years work experience in Analysis and Requirements Development
? Experience with writing detailed data requirements for system integration projects
? Experience with usability methods, techniques and design principles to create design deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, mock-ups and user interfaces
? Experience translating/explaining technical decisions into business terms

Preferred Skills
? Graduate degree or advanced studies
? Experience with DOORS, Team Foundation Server and Axure
? Experience with MS Office Tools and, UML, Clearcase
? Knowledge of SDLC and Agile Methodologies
? Knowledge of Client s role in the Mortgage Industry
? Experience with Object Oriented Programming Principles and Object Oriented Analysis and Design
? Prior Knowledge of Multifamily Business Process and Data
