Power Integrity CAD Engineer

  • Develop repeatable and predictable Power EMIR/IVD and Signal EM Analysis flow.
  • Develop flow/methodology to sweep different power grid (PG) topologies and floorplan sizes to maximize frequency at lowest possible power.
  • Develop flow/methodology to auto fix EMIR/IVD violations at different parts of the design.
  • Drive improvements in the IR/IVD vectorless methodology.
  • Develop a hierarchical flow to enable large design analysis with reasonable runtime.
  • Develop a flow to identify ideal bump locations and routing solution to minimize EMIR/IVD violations.
  • Work with the timing team to develop an IVD aware static timing analysis flow.
  • Setup and maintain a spice vs. Redhawk IR/IVD correlation flow.
  • Analyze accuracy vs. runtime tradeoffs of different Redhawk models (AVM, sim2iprof, postsim, CMM, etc.).
  • Assist in creating an EMIR dashboard to track design convergence.
  • Develop a flow to integrate the package model.
  • Develop a thermal analysis flow that will be used to influence the floorplan.

  • MSEE and 7+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent education and experience).
  • 7+ years of custom design tools and methodology development experience.
  • Experience with all or most of the following is required:
  • Working with industry standard EMIR Drop analysis tools like Ansys Redhawk/Totem or Cadence Voltus/Voltus-Fi
  • Expertise in using scripting languages like Tcl, Perl, Shell, and/or Python.
  • Setting up and maintaining CAD flows.
  • Working with batch run oriented environments for design space exploration and high throughput.
  • Experience in the following areas will be a plus:
  • Dynamic circuit simulation;
  • Physical design;
  • Static timing analysis;
  • Flow regression testing and release;
  • Power estimation and optimization;
  • Package modeling and package level analysis.
