Summary of essential job functions
Seeking a Proposal Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of proposal development efforts that he/she leads for our client. This will include directing and coordinating the activities of Proposal Volume Leaders and numerous technical authors and consultants to produce high-quality winning proposals. The Proposal Manager is responsible for working closely with the Capture Manager and/or Business Development Manager to develop and articulate technical and management solutions for proposals, whitepapers, presentations, and other business materials. 

This individual will be responsible for leading/mentoring less experienced proposal staff and proposal writers. S/He will contribute to proposal development writing efforts, when required. The individual will work with Business Area personnel, proposal coordinators, and consultants, as well as Teammates to create compelling documents. In addition, the Proposal Manager will interface with a range of matrixed resources and temporary help to support business acquisition and proposal development efforts. 

 To be successful in this role you will need to:
  • Manage the preparation of high quality proposals and marketing materials, working with technical, marketing and graphics staff and teaming partners.
  • Create RFP/RFI responses, or other proposal narratives in response to government solicitations; organize material and proposal responses to meet all specific RFP specifications.
  • Lead proposal planning meetings. Help develop proposal themes, schedule, and assignments.
  • Write new material; rewrite existing material to emphasize win themes; collect and compile information from other authors.
  • Manage color team/peer review process and finalize documents.
  • Take an active role in the process improvement and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Implement proposal best practices on every proposal effort undertaken.
  • Analyze RFP requirements: identify required responses, gaps, and inconsistencies and craft questions seeking clarification.
  • Able to creatively present complex solutions clearly in written proposals for government agencies.
  • Develop proposals that present solution concepts and benefits to drive key messages in support of the proposal win strategy.
  • Able to describe clear, measurable benefits to highlight how our performance on similar contracts will produce results for our customer
  • Edit material for structure, accuracy, organizational consistency, and appropriateness of content.
  • Must work well independently and as a team; must be able to communicate with tact and professionalism.
·        Bachelor's degree and 5 years' relevant professional experience in Proposal Manager role. 
·        5 years of experience of winning proposal efforts. 
·        5 years of experience with MS Office business applications.
