Overview:
This project is focused on providing IT development support services to the Customer and product teams of a system that will consolidate, integrate and streamline the delivery of products to improve Veteran's access to care. We will provide support services to include all Agile SLDC services, post deployment, sustainment support and transition support services. We will be developing new systems, enhancing current systems and sustaining legacy systems.

Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing and executing budgets that allocate current resources and estimate future financial requirements. Provide assistance and advice regarding the preparation of project budgets. Conduct financial analysis activities such as budget variance analysis, audit, risk management and cash management.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for, but are not limited to the following:
  • Obtain, analyze, and enter monthly budget updates from Project Managers as well as follow up on any previous open items and new areas of concern.
  • Assist in the management of the accounts receivable with the operations teams.
  • Run weekly and monthly analytics for projects.
  • Analyze budget variances and make any necessary correcting entries.
  • Supporting program planning and development and tracking of documentation required by the investment analysis effort, including development and updates to the business case.
  • Coordinate with process owners and stakeholders as the investment analysis process continues.
  • Forecast finances for multi-year project spend plans.
  • Create financial plans for acquisitions and future projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics or other related business discipline AND 5 years of experience with software related projects; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree OR a Master's Degree in similar discipline area or Business Management.
  • 5 yrs. of experience with business case preparation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, with advanced MS Excel skills, including complex formulas and macros.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Knowledge of pricing/budgeting tools and how to reflect operational changes in the tools.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently or in an Agile team setting and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
  • Government agency contracting experience; VA preferred (VHA/VBA).
