This project is focused on providing IT development support services to the Customer and product teams of a system that will consolidate, integrate and streamline the delivery of products to improve Veteran's access to care. We will provide support services to include all Agile SLDC services, post deployment, sustainment support and transition support services. We will be developing new systems, enhancing current systems and sustaining legacy systems.

The System Maintenance Manager will create, implement, and oversee plans to assure effective maintenance of systems and/or networks. The System Maintenance Manager is also responsible for, but are not limited to the following:
  • Review maintenance history and trends to identify evolutionary problems.
  • Maintain a variety of systems and networks to include high volume and high availability systems.
  • Manage teams of technicians and engineers supporting a large scale IT organization.
  • Review maintenance work, perform analysis of trends and recommend actions to improve areas requiring excessive maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other related engineering discipline AND 5 years of experience with software related projects; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 yrs. of experience creating and implementing systems and networks.
  • 5 yrs. of experience providing maintenance for such systems in a variety of environments.
  • 5 yrs. of experience maintaining high volume and high availability systems.
  • Proven experience in managing teams of technicians and engineers in this environment.
  • Knowledge of HL7 - a set of international standards for transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications used by various healthcare providers.
  • Ability to work independently or in an Agile team setting and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
  • Government agency contracting experience; VA preferred (VHA/VBA).
