Overview:
This project is focused on providing IT development support services to the Customer and product teams of a system that will consolidate, integrate and streamline the delivery of products to improve Veteran's access to care. We will provide support services to include all Agile SLDC services, post deployment, sustainment support and transition support services. We will be developing new systems, enhancing current systems and sustaining legacy systems.
Responsibilities:
The Sr. Integration Engineer will support system integrations, deployments and sustaining production products. Creating strategies and plans for the integration of multiple IT systems/subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained. The Sr. Integration Engineer is also responsible for, but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee several concurrent projects to promote interoperability.
  • Work closely with external parties to gather requirements, create project plans, implement technology, ensure sufficient testing and coordinate a move into production.
  • Coordinate with all parties to ensure data integration feeds downstream systems appropriately.
  • Maintain compliance with privacy and security requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other related technical discipline AND 10 years of experience with software related projects; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10 yrs. of introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks.
  • 10 yrs. of experience creating strategies and plans for integration.
  • Extensive experience with a broad depth of software and hardware platforms.
  • Technical project management and/or systems engineering experience related to healthcare integration engines.
  • Knowledge of HL7 - a set of international standards for transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications used by various healthcare providers.
  • Ability to work independently or in an Agile team setting and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
  • Government agency contracting experience; VA preferred (VHA/VBA).
