This project is focused on providing IT development support services to the Customer and product teams of a system that will consolidate, integrate and streamline the delivery of products to improve Veteran's access to care. We will provide support services to include all Agile SLDC services, post deployment, sustainment support and transition support services. We will be developing new systems, enhancing current systems and sustaining legacy systems.

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Test Engineer include but are not limited to the following:
  • Create test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts and test coverage traceability matrix.
  • Responsible for conducting functional, accessibility, system, reliability, usability, interoperability, regression, security, and performance testing.
  • Responsible for conducting testing related to non-functional requirements such as load, performance, installation, back-out and rollback.
  • Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events.
  • Review and affirm test environments are set up accurately.
  • Track problems and providing reporting on errors identified.
  • Test IT hardware, software, systems and networks and specialized environments.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related technical discipline AND 5 years of experience with software related projects; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 yrs. of experience working with team members to create test strategies, test plans and procedures and test scripts.
  • 5 yrs. of experience in creating reports, tracking problems and reporting on identified errors.
  • 5 yrs. of experience doing integration testing in an Agile Sprint environment.
  • Experience working with the Rational product line to include Team Concert, DOORS and/or Quality Manager.
  • Prior proven experience configuring necessary hardware and operating environments to complete assigned testing.
  • Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.
  • Experience effectively managing the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
  • Must be familiar with industry best practices of continuous integration methods and automated regression testing utilities.
  • Ability to work individually or in an Agile team setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Government agency contracting experience; VA preferred (VHA/VBA).
  • Knowledge of HL7 - a set of international standards for transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications used by various healthcare providers.
  • Prior experience or knowledge with any of the following: ProPath, Primavera, or Polaris.
