Overview:
This project is for the purpose for providing cost effective security controls to protect automated systems data, defend the VA digital systems, protect infrastructure, plan and prepare for future security needs. Team will support policy for security and privacy protection across systems, networks, cloud computing, software and hardware. We will be providing Program Management, systems assessment and management, MDPP Risk Management and Working Group Support, Medical Device Isolation Architecture (MDIA) technical support, and FSS Portal and SharePoint support for more than 1,500 facilities across the country. 
 
Responsibilities:
The SharePoint developer's role is to develop, design, code, test, and support including bug fixes, updated and technical support for SharePoint websites, workflows, InfoPath forms, and metric charts/reports. This includes developing Business Intelligence dashboards and interactive data analysis report capabilities and provide bug fixes, updates, and technical support.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand their ideas and being able to visualize and provide feedback on best practices in web design.
  • Analyze existing system content, information architectures and visual designs to come up with a powerful and creative solution that meets the customer's needs.
  • Assisting with the transformation of ideas into web-related deliverables.
  • Develop SharePoint  and custom SharePoint web-parts.
  • Provide intermediate abilities in database development 
  • Develop and write high quality coding that meets customer requirements
  • Implement best practices, standards and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies 
  • Ensure compliance with the documented software processes and procedures throughout the life cycle of software product.
  • Assists with the maintenance and enhancements of existing content, visuals and information architectures when necessary.
  • Develops, reviews and conducts presentations of wireframes and site maps that define information architecture for the project stakeholders and web development staff.
  • Develops multimedia presentations, animation and visual design for print media.
  • Assists with the development of project documentation, style guides and user training materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related discipline AND 2 (two) years of professional experience in the same; 8 (eight) years of professional experience in Information Technology or related field in lieu of a degree; AND
  • 2 yrs. of experience assisting with the design of web pages and portals based on performance, functionality, ease of use, and security.
  • 2 yrs. of experience working directly with clients/customers to capture and understand their needs to incorporate into the web design.
  • Advanced SharePoint skills to include experience with SharePoint Designer.
  • Experience creating Web Part Pages, Web Part Zones and Web Parts.
  • Experienced at creating HTML APIs.
  • Experienced with jQuery, CAML, JavaScript and similar web technologies.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with User Stories.
  • Ability to collaborate with Analysts, UX Designers, other Developer and Testers.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Government agency contracting experience; VA preferred (VHA/VBA).
