Position Summary:
  •  We are looking for a Buyer / Purchasing Analyst for our global automotive remanufacturing company. The Analyst coordinates activities involved with securing direct materials for the organization.  Duties include performing activities to find new vendors; assist with qualifying a vendor, negotiates cost, delivery, and MOQ.
Position Responsibility:
  •  Performs searches for new vendors in automotive parts, MRO, and other commodities as needed.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, MOQ, availability, and delivery schedule and coordination of transportation as needed.
  • Provide and track appropriate planning information and purchase commitments.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Performs Request for quotes, negotiates pricing, and performs analysis for new parts/suppliers.
  • Review invoice issues for assigned suppliers. 
  • Submits price changes for review and approval with Accounting, Business Development, and Customers as applicable.
  • Recommends measures to improve supply chain processes and inventory performance.
  • Responsible for adherence to policies, procedures, and instructions of the quality management systems.
  • Responsible for successful, on-time program launches as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Professional experience in a direct buying role with automotive commodities, including responsibility for analysis and negotiation of product and manufacturing cost
  • Significant purchasing, sourcing and/or supply chain management experience
  • Experience with RFQ (Request for Quotation) procurement system, including cost and supply base strategy analysis
  • Experience in contract management and/or negotiation
  • Experience in a manufacturing company or operation
  • Experience sourcing and/or purchasing from Eastern Europe, Asia and/or South America
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Inventory Control and financial asset allocation
  • Desirable: Certified Supply Chain Management (CSCM), Certified Purchasing Management (CPM), Certified Production & Inventory Management (CPIM)
