Mine Planning Engineer

Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (Mine Planning) to work in the Mansfield/Pelican, LA area.  This position offers a variety of great benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
  • Plan and coordinate the short and medium range mine plans regarding overburden removal, coal loading and hauling, pit water, and spoil grading activities.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations with regard to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Develop short range mine plans (weekly and monthly) and mid-range plans (1-5 years), which includes creating and monitoring overburden removal, lignite removal, drainage control, spoil grading and final reclamation plans.
  • Contribute to budgeting process for short and mid-range plans and special projects as assigned.
  • Work closely with Environmental Department to complete all necessary permitting and bonding requirements.
  • Support external bid process (Pre-Strip, Ancillary Construction, Engineering Studies, etc.) through development of bid packets, conduct pre-bid meetings, evaluate bids and make recommendations and monitor contractors for performance and compliance.
  • Track and variance analysis for mine Key Performance Indicators.
  • Provide engineering support/design work for special projects as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mining, civil or geological engineering
  • PE tracked by passing the FE examination (EIT/EI certification)
