SCOPE OF WORK

Project Description: Provide Engineering Support for the Bus Command Center Project and
other Electrical Capital Projects
Normal Work Week: Monday-Friday (weekends and nights when necessary)
40 hours per week 
Hours of Work: 8 am-5pm (minimum; includes lunch without pay):

Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration

Experience Requirements: Two (2) years of electrical-related experience or project
management work in capital construction project coordination. A satisfactory equivalent of
education and experience may be considered.

Licensing Requirements: Not Required.

Special Skills/Training Requirements:
a. Knowledge of electrical capital projects.
b. Knowledge of electrical engineering guidelines, specifications and standards of
performance.
c. Understanding of electrical power distribution preferred.
d. Knowledge of project management processes with practical experience of field
operations.
e. Knowledge of project management software preferable
f. Proficiency in the English language with ability to clearly write and verbally
communicate.
g. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
h. Strong analytic problem solving and interpersonal skills.
i. Ability to set priorities and ensure timely completion/closeout of assignments.
j. Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Description of Work:
a. Assist Construction Manager's Office with electrical engineering support function for
and other electrical construction capital projects.
b. Review electrical drawings, specifications and RFI's.
b. Managing various construction administrative processes (payments, scheduling,
estimating, additional work orders).
c. Preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of spreadsheets, scopes of work, estimates,
change orders, budget modifications, organize project files and documents, TAL services
and written construction-related correspondence.
d. Coordinating daily project management activities for the Construction Manger according
to NYCT Project Management Procedure/Guidelines.
e. Working with Construction Manager in meeting project goals, attending project
coordination meetings with stakeholders, preparing meeting minutes and following up on
action items.
f. Manage the coordination of field visits, surveys and inspections.
g. Performing other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.

Other Work Requirements
a. The consultant must attend a one-day  Track safety training Course is required
prior to participating in work on or near the track or wayside.
b. The consultant will provide safety shoes, at no cost to NYCT, which meets NYCT
guidelines and specifications before participating in work on or near the track or
wayside.
c. The consultant must have OSHA 30-hour certification.
