Description of the project

Positive Train Control (PTC) is a government-regulated initiative to increase rail safety through better monitoring and control of train movements. It consists of highly advanced technologies designed to prevent incidents like train-to-train collisions and over-speed derailments.

The QA analyst will ensure complete functional test coverage as well as provide tool and process support for end to end lab and field testing. This includes creating, validating, and maintaining test scripts using defined tools. The QA analyst will apply proven analytical skills and business knowledge to ensure proper integration of business requirements and application functionality that is of the highest quality. The QA analyst will need to be self-sufficient and work well in a collaborative team environment.

Summary of tasks

• Ensure adherence to established best practices, standards, and established processes.
• Responsible for designing test cases, scenarios, procedures, test data and other setup necessary to establish the required pre-conditions and environmental context for each test case
• Provide estimates for all testing deliverables.
• Define Test Strategy & Test Plan including system integration, performance testing, automation and all other types of testing
• Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application prior to testing to understand its intended functionality.
• Create, maintain and validated test scripts to test new and existing functionality ensuring a quality implementation.
• Collaborate with test leads and the business in application testing, such as user acceptance testing.
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to appropriate stakeholders.
• Coordinate all testing related activities for self and the team while ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.

Preferred Skills
• Background and knowledge in rail operations
• USOR or GCOR qualified
• 1+ years prior PTC experience.
• Posses an understanding of PTC system requirement and the underlying design.
