Machinist/ Toolmaker

Machinist/Toolmaker interested in a small tool-room environment fabricating and modifying intricate and precise parts for complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits and microchips.
 
Job Description
Ø  Primary responsibility will be to operate in safe and efficient manner, manual machine tools, CNC machine tools, miscellaneous power and hand tools, and all associated ancillary equipment for fabricating and modifying parts.
Ø  Other responsibility will include maintaining a clean and organized shop, following safety guidelines, and other tasks not directly related to machine shop operations in support of projects and production operations. 
 
Education/Experience
·         10 years machine shop experience required, including operation and maintenance of all standard shop tools and equipment,
OR
·         5 years machine shop experience required, including operation and maintenance of all standard shop tools and equipment plus college credit Certificate, with concentration in manufacturing technology (a technical certificate from an institute or trade school is an acceptable substitute).
·         Applicant must have proficiency in or willingness to adopt metric measurement system.
 
Skills Required:
·         Applicant must have the ability to machine intricate and precise parts from a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, and plastic, on typical tool-room machine tools.
·         Have a demonstrated skill working to extremely close tolerances from complicated drawings, sketches, engineering data and/or verbal instructions.
·         Proficient in planning, setup, and operation of machine tools based on work orders, drawings, machining instructions to machine parts to specifications and then conduct inspection to confirm parts meet quality standards.
