Position Objective:
The position is accountable for assisting in the day to day operations of the plant and warehouse. Key emphasis will be placed on managing the overall process at the plant level from seed treatment to packaging by seed count. In addition, emphasis will be placed on operating equipment to remove lint from bulk seed and separating the culls from the finished seed. Also, there is an emphasis on operating both manual and automated seed count and bagging equipment and tracking and maintaining accuracy of seed/lbs., bag weights, bag inventory, bag appearance and treater accuracy. Additional emphasis will be placed on safety, repairs, maintenance and reliability.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Operating the plant delinting equipment.
  2. Monitor dryer temperatures & delinting equipment.
  3. Maintain seed cleaning equipment.
  4. Maintain seed quality
  5. Monitor the waste products discarded from the cleaning operation.
  6. Record measurements taken during the shift as directed by the Plant Operator or the Production Supervisor
  7. Participate in cleanup of delinting, treating and bagging area for all variety changes.
  8. Assist the Production Supervisor as needed.
  9. Monitoring the acid concentration on seed.
  10. Monitor the quality of seed (Immature, cracks, seed color, etc.) Monitor cleaner and gravity table to desired setting.
  11. Assist as needed in other areas of the site as needed. (Seed returns, shipping of finished goods, packaging, warehousing, fuzzy receiving, etc.)
  12. Meet the safety requirements for the plant.
  13. Meet Quality and Stewardship guidelines.
  14. Other tasks as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in an agricultural field with 2 to 3 year experience in cotton production, research, cotton ginning, seed production or seed conditioning or similar type experience is required.
