Job description:

The Desktop Infrastructure team is a critical operations team that supports more than 150 000 endpoints (mix of Windows and Mac desktops and laptops). The team is comprised of 3 virtual sub teams namely Configuration and Infra Services, Apps and Core Services and Performance Management, with each one focusing on a specific area within the Desktop realm.

However there are primary areas of common focus that include:

- Providing Level 3 support to end users as well as our Level 1 and 2 desk-side support
teams
- Maintaining the health of the machines from an operating system and core
applications' standpoint
- Providing troubleshooting and analysis during outages.

This position is specifically for the Application and Core Services sub team. This team provides Level 3 support for all core services running on Windows and Mac desktops, GPOs, applications such as Microsoft Office and its plugins, browsers, Direct Access as well as XenDesktop components. All of these are critical to the smooth functioning of the Desktop, and individuals in this team are often called on to troubleshoot incidents impacting the stability of these services.

We are looking for skilled technologists who are self-directed, self-motivated, and highly reliable. Many of the issues we face are unique and complex, and require creative thinking, perseverance, patience, and a willingness to ask questions in order to arrive at a solution.
To be best prepared for this role, you should have a background in Microsoft Windows operations or system administration - ideally in a demanding enterprise organization. Experience with supporting virtual machines and knowledge of one or more enterprise operations tools, such as SCCM, Appsense, BigFix, or Splunk would be a great help, ITIL certification, MCDST certification, skills in PowerShell, automation, or documentation authoring experience would be a definite plus.
