You will have outstanding technical accounting expertise and provide hands-on leadership for all financial functions, providing direct day-to-day supervision and development of Finance Department employees. This position requires solid experience in project accounting, and the demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of reliability, transparency and accuracy in project/cost accounting. A key aspect of this role will be the ability to successfully challenge business partners with a view to improving transparency and processes across the company (as opposed to silo driven). You as the controller will evolve the financial systems, processes and employee capabilities of a previously self-standing facilities management company and to meet the criteria and standards of its parent company, a global leader in quality of life service solutions. This position will be a strategic partner with operations executives so critical strategic thinking skills are required but will also need the ability to be involved with the detail aspects of the business and accounting transactions.
Areas of responsibility and oversight include: Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis, monthly close, cash management, balance sheet, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, internal controls, tax compliance, job costing, contract management, and supplying overall accounting decisions and expertise. In addition, this role manages established integration points with the client in areas such as Tax and Treasury and will ultimately integrating company financial systems and processes with those of the company over time.
The Corporate Controller must be degreed in accounting and/or finance, with preference given to CPA or equivalent qualifications. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of accounting and/or finance experience, with at least 5 years' experience in project/cost accounting and have held the role of a Controller or an Assistant Controller for a company, or a division of a large company. Involvement with managing the integration of financial systems and processes between two corporate entities (parent & subsidiary), including the associated information technology considerations is a plus. In addition, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience that lends him or her to be an excellent team leader. Work experience in Mobile Maintenance or professional services within the HVAC Service, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, Roofing Services industries or manufacturing industry of some kind is preferred.Qualifications
