Job Description

1+ year contract

The following workload is required to maintain the global ViPR SRM deployment at Client:
  • Ongoing discovery of all new Client technology assets (arrays, switches, vCenter and physical servers)
  • 5 ViPR SRM upgrade cycles per year, for each of 5 infrastructures
  • Support - Opening and supporting EMC Service Requests
  • Customization & data enrichment work
  • Attend to client and technical staff storage data inquiries or new storage data requests
  • Team meetings, status reports, Service Now records, & other non-technical activities
Members of the SRM team at Client should possess the following qualifications:
  • Should have formal training & substantial experience with ViPR SRM 4.0 (and above), and fully understand how to...
    • Implement a binary installation of ViPR SRM components
    • Configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot ViPR SRM components
    • Manage SolutionPacks, and Client storage arrays (block, file, SDS, object) switches, vCenter and physical servers (Windows, Unix and Linux)
    • Navigate the user interface and identify the best dashboard/report needed to address a given requirement
    • Manage data enrichment processes and implement filters (e.g. CRF, VHF, etc.)
    • Customize dashboards and reports (leveraging complex expansions, etc. as necessary)
  • Excellent communications skills (both oral and written)
  • Experience with storage platforms such as VMAX, VNX, XtremIO, ScaleIO, A9000, HDS G1XXX, Cleversafe (object storage), Netap, HNAS
  • Proficient with Linux and, Unix.– able to work with SSH, sudo, registry settings, etc. Windows knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft excel, ppt, word
  • Some development/scripting experience (sql, phython)
  • Knowledgeable about storage (e.g. SMI-S) & networking technologies (e.g. TCP/IP)
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrate ability to operate independently, set own priorities, and manage multiple concurrent work streams
  • Willing to support a large environment encompassing 4 continents
