A Major Financial Firm is in need of a IT Project Manager

A Project Manager contractor is required to project manage several small- to medium-sized IT Infrastructure projects. The expected duration of this assignment is 20 months, although the PM will work on various projects during that time period. The PM needs to have a good conceptual understanding of a broad range of infrastructure technologies (e.g. network drive / printing technologies, networking, file transfer, PC imaging, etc.).

The IT infrastructure project manager will be based out of  office in Livingston, NJ. The PM will report into the Director of Engagement Management for the duration of this engagement. The PM will be expected to primarily work ET business hours for most of the project, but will have the ability to run some conference calls after ET or PT business hours (after 8:00 PM ET) and weekends as required.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Overall project ownership (deliverables, quality, schedule, and budget) for the stated projects.
• Responsible for the project plan creation and any subsequent changes.
• Will work with vendor PMs as required to achieve the desired program goals.
• Will coordinate the activities of SMEs, and do follow-ups as required.
• Conduct project meetings, record meeting minutes and action items, and follow-up on action items.
• Adhere to all of  project management standards and EPMO policies.
• Submit project purchases and track actual project costs vs. budget.
• Prepare weekly project flash reports and weekly status reports.
• Create or edit technical project documentation as required.

Required skills/experience:
• 7+ Years of IT project management experience.
• 4+ Years of experience managing medium or larger IT infrastructure projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage detailed tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.
• Ability to work after normal business hours and on weekends occasionally.
• Packaged Software experience: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio.
• College degree and/or PMP certification
