Senior Network Security Engineer

Top 5 requirements are:
1.) Senior level experience with firewall product technologies, appliance and virtualized, including Cisco ASA, Check Point, Fortinet, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks firewall products;
2.) Senior level experience with virtualized network functions (VNFs, KVM and VMware) and containerization platforms including OpenStack, Heat templates, Docker, & Kubernetes;
3.) Senior level experience with lab environments, predominately Linux based;
4.) Senior level experience with network performance testing tools including Breaking Point and Spirent;
5.) Experience with DevOps tools: Ansible, Helm, Terraform. Typical duties may include but are not limited to: designing, testing, identifying, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware and software issues on all  virtualized security solution architectures supporting a variety of virtualization technologies; installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, administering, monitoring, and maintaining various operating systems, associated software, virtual management systems, servers, networking, clustering, storage, and software applications.

The IDEAL CANDIDATE should have KNOWLEDGE OF a.) principles of data communications and telecommunications pertaining to installing, testing, and maintaining IT systems; b.) principles of TCP/IP and related protocols including layer 2 and 3 networking technology experience; c.) operational support experience would be a plus; d.) strong technical documentation skills; e.) scripting experience and any programming, e.g., Python, Java a plus. e.) strong interpersonal skills and ability to closely with other on development team. SKILL & ABILITY TO: Design, analyze and implement multi-level platform security technology systems; identify and define software and hardware problems, and develop viable solutions and alternatives; use system utilities to effectively resolve hardware and software problems; learn and apply advancements in security IT to existing system environments; establish and meet objectives of CSO, AT&T Labs and Operations work teams; communicate effectively in a clear, concise and understandable manner when speaking to individuals and teams; communicate effectively in writing when preparing documents that accurately describe application, hardware, and system configuration interfaces, and when preparing instructions, training manuals, guidelines, and other reports; establish effective working relationships with management, employees and representative of outside agencies; exercise appropriate judgment in answering questions and releasing information; analyze and project consequences of decisions and/or recommendations; and prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree or higher in information technology, systems engineering, computer science, or a closely related field; AND have at least four (4) years of RECENT full-time, professional experience in designing, configuring, administering, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining applications and/or IT infrastructure systems; MUST have recent experience with firewall security products; virtualized operating systems; virtual machine management tools.
