Omnicell has an opening for a Software Development Manager to join our Software Development Team located in Cranberry, PA. As a Performance Center team member, you will work hard with a team of engineers on enterprise-wide solutions for health systems throughout the world. Our solutions help to drive improved financial performance, compliance, and better patient outcomes. Each day you will make an impact.

On a day to day basis, you will help with technical leadership and responsible for management of an engineering team that will build, experiment, operate and maintain software to meet business and customer needs with the Omnicell cloud workflow platform using a microservices architecture and working in conjunction with the cloud data platform team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to the agile team
  • Manage one or more engineering scrum team(s)
  • Responsible for hiring and onboarding new employees and contractors as and when needed
  • Provide technical, process and product leadership in software engineering for the cloud data platform.
  • Work closely with product owners to ensure your team meets or exceeds product expectations promptly.
  • Develop cross-functional project plans to meet release milestones, ensuring releases are effectively communicated across the organization.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain agile software development methodologies to ensure maximum team productivity.
  • Drive software best practices, including design, code review, and unit test development to ensure maximum software quality.
  • Provide employee development, team building and mentoring.
  • Responsible for motivating, and directing the efforts of the software engineering team.
  • Implement the key corporate values of customer focus, accountability, performance, and integrity.
  • Works within the team to build product deliverables based on overall architecture direction
  • Works with a scrum team on providing quality and value to our customers
  • Works in an agile environment implementing complex code changes for specific requirements or applications
  • Ensures unintentional technical debt is not created
  • Recommends improvements to the software delivery cycle to help remove waste and impediments for the team
  • Drives, promotes and measures team performance against the sprint and project goal.
  • Works with the team to continuously improve in development practices and process
  • Troubleshoots complex problems with existing or newly-developed software
  • Mentoring and coaching of Software Engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years' experience in software development, demonstrating increased levels of responsibility and technical expertise.
  • 2+ years of people management experience, leading technical professionals (software developers, development managers, and/or technical program managers)
  • 4+ Year of Experience in C# and the .NET Framework
  • 1+ Years of experience in:
    • in Angular
    • microservices architecture
    • Cloud experience (AWS, Lamdba, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with agile development (especially Scrum and / or Kanban)

Preferred Qualifications

  • DevOps experience in Cloud technologies like AWS, CloudFront, Kubernetes, VPC, RDS, etc
  • Experience with .Net core
  • Healthcare industry experience for inpatient settings
