Summary:

  • The Infrastructure Technology Solutions Manager is responsible for managing all people, processes and tools to deliver infrastructure technologies of planning, design and implementation services.
  • Working with the City CIO, city business customers, business application services and technology operations
This position's responsibilities include:
  • Performance monitoring, capacity planning and workload forecasting
  • Design and implementation of enterprise compute platforms, storage, physical databases, networks, Wi-Fi networks, Active Directory, network security, messaging systems, server virtualization, hybrid cloud infrastructure, mobile device communication, high availability and disaster recovery, VOIP telephony, endpoint devices, software distribution systems, etc.
  • Development and management of the City's images across desktops, laptops and mobile devices
  • Development and management of the City's packaging, productivity desktop software such as Adobe and others
  • Level 3 incident resolution.
  • This position is also tasked with proactively making recommendations for enhancements to the infrastructure technology portfolio, based on evolving technologies and operational observations.
  • This manager is the infrastructure domain architect and works with the enterprise architect for the solutioning of complex requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, CIS, MIS or equivalent
  • 7 or more years of management experience in a technology environment which includes datacenter management, enterprise systems management, Windows Server, VMWARE; Nimble Storage, Cisco Networks; VOIP, security appliances, endpoint security solutions, O365 Pro+ productivity Suite, 1,200+ Windows 10 and Apple devices, MDM systems, and similar architectures.
  • Experience with 'managed services' and Local Government is highly desirable.
  • Experience with design (blueprinting) and developing conceptual, logical, and technical architectures.
  • Possesses strong product, technology, and industry knowledge.
  • Experience in developing, enhancing and supporting event correlation.
  • Familiarity with database software.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Skills:
  • Infrastructure domain architect plan, design, and implementation of enterprise compute, data center, and network.
  • Strongly desired to have experience in endpoint imaging/packaging planning, design, and implementation.
  • Proven record of success in customer satisfaction, innovation, and staff management & development.
  • Must be comfortable working with senior executives and should demonstrate the ability to develop relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and problem solve in multiple environments.
  • Display superior strategic thinking/conceptual abilities.
  • Ability to assimilate the customer's business strategy and objectives and develop innovative technology solutions to meet those goals.
  • Should understand and be able to communicate the technical details to all audience levels.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to communicate vision, strategy, and key objectives.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative analysis skills.
