Title: Windows Server Platform Engineer Position Description

This is a project-oriented engineering role within the global Windows Shared Services Engineering and Development team. The team is responsible for Windows Server hardware certifications, platform tooling and Windows Server platform and feature engineering and Azure Cloud engineering. The ideal candidate has deep technical experience in the core Windows Server platform, server hardware, build systems and automation, leadership skills, and excellent communications ability. The scope for this role encompasses the firm's global Windows infrastructure.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS core internals

Knowledge of Client, Dell and/or Lenovo server hardware

Moderate to strong proficiency with Power Shell

Experience with creating and managing standard OS builds and related components

Experience with enterprise-scale OS deployment technologies such as ADS/WDS, SCCM OSD or MDT

Experience with platform management tooling like System Center, patch management and security products Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare ESX, etc.)

Experience with core infrastructure technologies (AD, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, etc.)

Experience with Microsoft Cluster Services

Troubleshooting experience including analyzing kernel memory dumps and network packet captures

A thorough understanding of TCP/IP, layer 2 and 3 network design, firewalls, switches and routers Experience creating technical documentation

Excellent communication and written skills

Skills desired:

Experience with automation tools such as Orchestrator/SMA and/or Azure

Automation Experience with the Microsoft virtualization technologies such as VMM, Microsoft Azure Pack, Microsoft Azure Stack Experience with public cloud offerings, such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS

Experience with container technologies such as Docker, LXC, Mesos, Kubernetes

Experience in the financial industry and familiarity with the regulatory aspects of technology

Experience with configuration management tools like
