  • This position is responsible for the design, delivery, management, and availability of the enterprise suite of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Analytics solutions within Enterprise Data & Analytic Services (EDAS). This includes all strategic analytic platforms: Teradata databases, Big Data (Hadoop), ETL (Informatica) and several different BI platforms (e.g., MicroStrategy, etc.) within the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BI COE). This leader must deliver solutions which can facilitate the creation of competitive advantage for the business while driving towards standard data & analytic solutions whenever possible.

    The Manager, BI & Analytics COE will have leadership responsibility for the delivery of data and analytic solutions like executive dashboards, ad hoc query tools, etc. for Enterprise users as well as Line of Business specific analytic solutions. Strong partnership skills are critical in this role as the delivery of analytic solutions is done in partnership with other business and application teams.

    Key Functions and Responsibilities:
    • Communicate the business value of analytics: leverage data to create actionable insights.
    • Deliver value for business partners by understanding their analytic needs and advocating technology solutions which deliver data and analytic functionality in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.
    • Direct implementation and maintenance of data architecture and scalable self-service data and reporting functions.
    • Collaborate with business and IT teams to identify, prioritize, and develop a best in class cross-functional BI and analytics framework.
    • Design and develop impactful solutions (proof-of-concept development, business case development, feasibility analysis, prototyping through delivery).
    • Support the expansion of analytic capabilities and delivery of innovative tools by researching and implementing new and emerging technologies.
    • The EDAS BI portfolio spans many different technology platforms and will require the Leader to have a strong understanding of data warehousing, big data, and end-user analytic solutions.
    • This position will assess current staff capabilities, identify talent gaps, and deploy human capital to address technology needs.
    • Manages and allocates appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives. Decisions carry significant risk to the organization, regulatory environments and impact to external customers.
    • Responsible for reporting and analytic solutions that are unique to the clients Medicare, Complex Care (long term services, MMP, etc.), and Marketplace (Affordable Care Act / Obamacare) product lines. Responsibilities may include on or more of the following areas
    o Medicare CMS Universes reporting.
    o Long Term Support Services (LTSS) dashboard development
    o Medicaid, Medicare & Behavioral Health compliance reporting
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Medical Informatics, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience. 5+ year's experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, analytics and data mining. Experience in project management and partnering with technology development staff. Strong proven management background.

  • Experience with MicroStrategy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MPP and cloud database environments
  • Experience with data warehouse, database and data management concepts, processes, tools and technologies (i.e. BI, Big Data, ETL and MPP databases)
  • Proven ability to solve and lead an organization through complex technology problems
  • Ability to communicate at multiple levels

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare from a payer and/or provider perspective
