Global financial firm located in Montreal, QC has an immediate contract opportunity for a Technology Business Development (TechBD) Analyst

Brokerage is seeking a Technology Business Development (TechBD) Analyst (contract consultant) for its Technology and Data (T&D) organization with responsibility for supporting strategic business relationships between the various technology organizations, the vendor community, and the front office of the firm's business.

Primary Responsibilities
The Technology Business Development associate will support the creation of win-win relationships between the various technology organizations and the business divisions of the bank. The role entails significant elements of relationship development and strategy development. In particular the primary elements of the role include:

Strategy and Insight Development
o Take Brokerage internal insights into the trajectory of the industry or particular vendors and package this material (in partnership with TechBD sector leads) so that it can be shared via our banking teams with their key clients. These insights when coupled with meetings with the internal technology experts are high value to the firm's clients.
o Share internal IT's view of the future enterprise technology landscape with Research and select Brokerage Wealth Management Clients.
o Build PowerPoint presentation that summarize Brokerage's position on a technology sector, opportunity or desired business outcome. Be comfortable with highly sensitive information.
o Develop financial models when and if required.

Innovation Outreach
o Develop relationships with external Venture Capital firms, universities, and industry consortiums and use this network to identify emerging industry trends and associated promising technology startup companies. When appropriate and aligned with the strategy of the bank introduce those companies to internal IT or banking.
o Support the development of a strategy in conjunction with TechBD management and the key regional stakeholders that builds a pipeline of the highest performing emerging technology companies.

Relationship Management
o Working with the CIOs, Application Development managers, Corporate Sourcing and Enterprise Infrastructure leadership identify the network of vendor relationships used to deliver IT services to the Asia business today. Rank this network in terms of its tactical and strategic value to the bank (both IT and the business lines) and ensure appropriate relationships are in place with senior leadership and operational management for all significant vendors.
o Share and follow best practice processes to ensure vendor relationships are appropriately managed in partnership with other stakeholders. This will entail development of processes that ensure appropriate firewalls are in place, vendors are fairly treated during selection processes, and communication with the vendors is coordinated.
o Coordinate escalation of issues (contractual or operational) with vendors, ensuring suitable senior executives at Brokerage and at the vendor are involved as appropriate.

General Management
o Ensure client meeting requests are appropriate scheduled, suitable participants are available, agendas are agreed, and all parties are appropriately briefed.
o Ensure all logistics for external events are coordinated, and executed within agreed budgets.

Key Skills
o Strong knowledge of security architecture
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Commitment to work at the cutting edge of banking and technology
o Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, comfortable with dealing with and challenging ambiguity
o Strong PowerPoint and story-telling skills
o Excellent written English skills
o Technical experience (either strong technical experience with a technology OR strong financial modelling skills. Both is a significant advantage)
o MBA is required
o Experience working for a top level consultancy in a junior consulting role a plus.
