Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

The Strategy Development and Planning team at Healthcare Foundation Plan of Washington facilitates, builds and develops the region's strategy and operating plans that support the long term objectives, mission and vision of Client.
In this role, you will partner with the Senior Director, Strategy Insights, Development & Planning to build organization strategy development and operational planning capabilities, and lead the development of the region's strategic and operating plans.

Key work includes:
Build, develop and engage a high performing team and support their long-term career growth
Oversee process design for, and facilitate, the region's strategic planning process, including the goal setting process
Deliver strategic assessment that addresses a broad array of internal performance measures and external environmental factors
Develop strategic plan framework, with multi-year goals, strategies, initiatives and metrics
Develop and implement planning and review process with the regional executive team
Facilitate creation of regional operating plan, with three-year roadmap
Deliver operating plan that ensures the region has a road map to achieve its goals, and that regional leaders are prepared for successful execution
Link long range strategic plan to short range outcomes and goals
Work with the regional Business Intelligence function to develop metrics and actionable analytical tools to ensure the region has transparency on key goals and metrics, including real time leading indicators, and a process for bringing insight quickly to decision makers
Lead team to develop adequate planning cycle times and lead times, and ensure supporting tools and transparence on performance
Establish and maintains collaborative, results oriented relationships with executive sponsors, business owners and key stakeholders. Become a valued thought partner to senior leaders throughout the region
Partner with senior leaders across the organization to bolster their strategy development efforts
Align with Senior Director to identify where to prioritize strategy development efforts
Lead internal strategy development efforts
Drive internal client engagements, ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables, and managing across a matrixed organization
Manage a portfolio of concurrent strategy development efforts
Develop process to prioritize focus areas for execution deployment. Build close working relationship with the Strategic Deployment team, ensuring that focus is placed on the most important regional priorities

Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts or business or related field of study

Preferred Education
Master's Degree, MBA


Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Intermediate extensive experience working with executive leaders; demonstrates excellent skills in influence and political savvy; serves as an advisor and thought partner.
Intermediate Outstanding relationship management & collaboration skills.
Intermediate Excellent meeting facilitation, conflict management and negotiation skills.
Intermediate Excellent strategic thinking, business acumen, and results orientation
Intermediate Supervisory experience.
Intermediate Project management tool experience

Preferred Knowledge/Skills
At least 3 years on management consulting experience preferred, reaching manager or team lead level.


Minimum Experience Requirements
3 years Minimum healthcare industry experience; knowledge of health care operations, including primary care, specialty and ancillary services
3 years Minimum process improvement experience and/or relevant certification
5 years Minimum project leadership and/or management experience; demonstrated leadership ability- particularly as a collaborator and strong partner in shared leadership roles
5 years of change management experience
10 or more years Minimum project management experience
