BI Systems Administrator III

The BI Systems Administrator III provides technical and administrative support to our Business Intelligence (BI) platform(s). Assists in the design and administration of the platform, ensuring system performance and stability and oversight of BI operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in the planning and execution of major platform software upgrades and maintenance
  • Performs trend analysis of system logs, audits, management data, etc. to identify performance issues and drive improvements
  • Handles triage production issues when they occur in conjunction with other application & business users to ensure resolutions
  • Maintains BI systems and plan for future scale or new technologies
  • Maintains ETL operations and data warehousing environment
  • Enforces migration governance and best practices. Holds responsibility for up-time and performance of the Spotfire reporting environment
  • Works with third party vendors and consultants on system upgrades, updates/changes
  • Serves as the primary technical point of contact on BI platform server engagements of moderate to high complexity including service tickets
  • Manages BI security and provides after business hours support for production BI systems
  • Assumes active role in project management activities, including timeline, activity reports, and status updates to ensure timely and successful execution by project teams
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 4 years experience
  • Bachelors degree in related field. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Windows Server 2012R2
  • Comprehensive Spotfire 7.6+ administration in a multi-node, clustered enterprise eviron, including troubleshooting, maintenance, performance monitoring and optimization
  • Apache Tomcat 8 administration
  • Familiar with ETL
  • Familiar with SQL
  • Familiar with HTML5
  • Root Cause Analysis, implementing corrective actions, establishing standards and best practices
  • Experience addressing real-world analytic problems using quantitative approaches
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills; ability to communicate in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
  • Able to work with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, VBScript, etc.)

  • Knowledge of ETL best practices
