Global financial firm in New York, NY has an immediate opening for a Business Analyst.

Re-engineering Expense Management is seeking to fill this mid-level Business
Analyst
position with a consultant who is highly motivated and organized with
strong analytical, Excel and accounting skills.

This contingent will be assigned a portfolio of sourcing deals set to expire in the
upcoming year and tasked with determining the spend for the related good or
service over the preceding year, broken down into price and quantity
components. The contingent will also assist in calculating savings realized
over the first year of active contracts using a similar methodology.

This role requires a high level of analytical skill as well as the agility to juggle multiple tasks.

Role breakdown
• 50%: reconstructing baseline spend on expiring deals
• 50%: true-up of savings over the first year of active contracts

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide insights and analytics on vendor spend data (AP/GL and Sourcing category data)
• Support project task tracking and reporting
• Assist in the production of presentations for management
• Ad hoc analysis, spend reconciliation and reporting as needed
• Strong data analytic skills
• Strong technology skills, including expert level excel (V-lookup, Macros, VBA, Pivots), Access and PowerPoint
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and follow up
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Must have strong work ethic, be a team player
• Able to work independently and resolve database integrity/reporting issues
• Experience working with AP/ GL data
• Strong problem solving skills
• Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record; degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
