Description/Comment:Responsibilities:
The Business Banking Operations (BBOps) Associate will be responsible for performing various tasks to support the Business Banking portfolio. This includes processing commercial credit in support of underwriting during their origination and the ongoing portfolio management activities. Activities that support the application review, loan documentation, closing, and booking processes for Business Banking are some of the detailed tasks associated with this role. Other activities may include processing various requests in support of Business Banking customers, system data entry, data modification and review, and other tasks as needed for Business Banking Operations. Items such as research requests, processing advances, payments and other requests for Business Banking Operations may be performed in addition to other support activities to improve the overall governance in BBOps.


Primary responsibilities include:
• Timely and accurate processing of small business loans and/or applications in accordance with Business Banking Operations procedures; ensuring all activities meet Bank, departmental, and regulatory expectations
• Effectively working with sales partners, customers, legal, and third parties to clear all pre-closing conditions associated with a credit approval
• Drafting and/or review of loan closing documentation; Analyzing to determine acceptability of documents to established standards/requirements
• Communicating with both internal and external customers identifying required information and provide status updates to appropriate parties; coordinating funding and booking activities
• Successfully multitasking/managing a loan pipeline while communicating clearly and timely to sales team and customers on status and conditions
• Requesting the necessary supporting loan documentation to complete application or servicing processe
• Maintaining/updating appropriate systems with extreme accuracy
• Determining and executing on necessary due diligence based on type of task
• Performing research and validation on Business Banking loans to ensure accurate reporting and process execution
• Assisting with the transfer of credits, supporting the establishment, and maintenance of virtual credit files and the overall preparation of a file for underwriting as specified in accordance with the Policies and Procedures established by Business Banking Operations.
• Perform research and validation on Business Banking loans to ensure accurate reporting, Funding/Booking activities and process execution
• Supporting governance activities and provide general operational support for the Business Banking Operations department


Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience:

• 1-5 years of relevant business experience
• A minimum of 3 years in Banking and/or Financial Services
• 2+ years with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Highly motivated and team-oriented
• Ability to plan and prioritize workload based on business needs
• Ability to expedite moderately complex problem resolution
• Self starter with capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
• Highly-effective written and oral communication skills
• Able to provide exceptional customer service and to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and with all levels of management
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment while maintaining service level agreements. Ability to effectively manage a pipeline of credits, independently prioritizing activities
• Prior work experience in a business/commercial lending environment is preferred with knowledge of customary products, practices and policies
• Knowledge of SBA processing and real estate secured lending is preferred
• Knowledge of typical commercial loan documentation, financial statements and due diligence is preferred
