The Director of Global Manufacturing Financial Management is responsible for leading the Manufacturing finance and cost management teams for ensuring that all facets of product costs, absorption, inventory accounting and global supply chain is timely and efficiently managed. As part of this responsibility, the position will be responsible for financial budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, financial management, modelling and other strategies relevant to production, sourcing, supply chain and manufacturing for global locations. The role will also encompass maintaining relationships with production, quality, sales, Legal, and internal Finance teams such as Business Finance, General Accounting, and FP&A both in terms of managing day-to-day activities and in developing the infrastructure to support future business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Position will manage a team of individual contributors and multiple direct reports in overseeing the multiple plant sites with different product profiles
  • Be the primary subject matter expert on strategic sourcing, consumption, make-buy decisions, cost reduction and process management
  • Manage the financial impact of sourcing Contracts with vendors and on-going compliance
  • Evaluate and assess the impact of current processes and bring in thought leadership for changes and innovation for cost optimization
  • Partner closely with global teams to ensure that transactions are booked in accordance with the Company's accounting Policies
    • Review and help negotiate key contractual terms
    • Provide guidance on potential cost implications
    • Facilitate approval from Executive Management, as needed
  • Provide guidance on moving backlog transactions to and be an integral part of the revenue forecasting process to support production planning
  • Work closely with VP of Manufacturing, VP of Quality and Production management for world-wide production sites
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and develop a strong working relationship and liaise with the Company's external auditors on all revenue related audit issues
  • Provide thought leadership with the Company's revenue recognition policy and global processes to assist Marketing and Business Development with new product introductions and new business expansion for cost management
  • Continuously use and implement new processes and procedures that utilize technology, build efficiencies, reduce duplication, and streamline work flows.
  • Ensure compliance with all SOX controls and requirements
  • Support with margin analysis and productivity metrics management
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as necessary:
    • New system implementation such as business intelligence tools
    • Assist M&A team in identifying key accounting issues related to acquisitions
    • Periodic formal presentations to Executive Management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Effectively support inventory forecasting process including the timely billing of orders and the management of backlog during the course of the business cycle, and provide timely and accurate reporting to management.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Significant industry experience in actual areas of manufacturing finance in global setting
  • Understanding of the requirements of SOX in a public company environment
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with peers and management up to Executive level, particularly with regard to complex customer negotiations and arrangements
  • Strong systems experience to recommend and be part of the cross-functional team that will drive new enhancements to our ERP system
  • Significant experience working with key leaders in a high pressure, fast paced environment

  • Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement – including departments outside of finance
  • Experience mentoring and developing staff; position will manage a team of individual contributors and multiple direct reports under this position

Basic Qualifications:
