Job Description: Application Architect and Database Expert
Direct involvement in all SDLC and project management phasesPartners with Digital Medicine and PfIReLab Clinicians, Data Scientists and Informatics teams to understand data and data access needs. Design and develop databases based on study protocol,industry standards such as CDISC, strategies and regulations.Maintains up-to-date Databases for studies supporting RU and PfIRe Lab; creates schemas, designs, develops, tests, and implements stored procedures and triggers; conducts tunes application and query performance; assists with the development and administration of data warehouses; writes code to automate database tasks using MySQL, Oracle,SciDB,SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Designer/2000, PERL, Shell Script, TOAD, and Windows NT/2000.Install software and configure database servers, deploy and implement applications throughout internal and external sitesApply periodic software&database updates while providing hands on application supportCreate configuration, user guides, training & support documentation using Confluence and JIRADevelop,monitor and maintain database management system procedures and sets appropriate security levelsDesigns and execute database & server backup and restore processesEstablish application and database disaster recovery protocolsEvaluate and recommend application development and database enhancement and improvements Act as an escalation point for software and/or database critical problems requiring attention and assistance
ExperienceKnowledge and experience in Good Clinical PracticesPractical experience in clinical trial strategies, methods and processes including study design and data reviewMust have wide-ranging technical experience with:Django Python web application framework developmentData Modelling for defining and analyzing data requirementsOracle DB, SciDB designed for multidimensional data management and analyticsMySQL, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Designer/2000, PERL, Shell Script, and TOADGraph Databases such as Neo4J, Arango, OpenLink VirtuosoLinux, Windows, iOS-internal Operating Systems inner working and general knowledgeETL Processes associated with database usage and data warehousingGitHubweb-based version control repository and internet hosting serviceConfluence, JIRA and Project management (Agile, Waterfall)tools and methodologiesGood Understanding of Ontology development processes and application of current industry standards for terminologies and nomenclatures such as SNOMED, ICD and CDISCAdaptable problem solving and multi-tasking skills (technical and non-technical)Strong inter-personal, written/verbal communication skills, including ability to evaluate, interpret and present complex data
