Responsibilities
Applies comprehensive knowledge within the area of real estate operations management (AR, AP, Budgeting, etc.).
 Reviews and approves work papers, daily closing packages and other reports for both a daily priced and monthly close fund
Reviews and approves cash related transactions to ensure accurate and timely posting to the ledgers.
 Focuses on maintaining real estate operations ledger within the real estate accounting function and ensure resolution of all reconciling items in a timely manner
Reviews and approves bank and ledger account reconciliations and processes transactions related to a variety of real estate investments.
 Validates accuracy of interfaced information from Yardi to downstream systems.
 Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
 Ensures that requests are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
 Reviews and participates in the recording and processing real estate operations transactions including producing a daily net income for a daily priced real estate fund
 Ensures daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements are completed accurately and timely in accordance with regulations and/or internal guidelines.
 Participates in the setup and recording of new purchases or sales of real estate and discussions regarding complex transactions.
 Continually evaluates and improves processes to enhance systems, reports and analysis to provide efficiencies, cost savings and provide added value to the organization as approved by management.
 Ability to simultaneous handle multiple assignments and projects

 Acts as subject matter expert, requiring specialized knowledge in functional or business unit area.
 Position may provide functional advice or training to less experienced staff.

 Identifies workflow problems pertaining to team functions; recommends and implements solutions.

Experience, Degrees & Certifications:
 5-7 years of accounting work experience with a minimum 3 years accounting for real estate investments/real estate operations.
Yardi 7S experience with investment management focus preferred.
 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related discipline required.
 Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, real estate contracts and accounting within the real estate industry required.
 Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and Visio)
