A Major Financial Firm located in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate contract opportunity for a Data Solutions Project Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Intermediate Holding Company ( "IHC”) program structured at the U.S. level across poles of activities of the Bank provides guidance, supports the analysis, impact assessment and drives adjustments of the U.S. platform's operating model due to the drastic changes introduced by the Enhanced Prudential Standards ( "EPS”) for Foreign Banking Organizations ( "FBOs”) finalized by Client in February 2014, implementing Section 165 of U.S. Dodd-Frank Act.

Functions include leading data quality and remediation efforts supporting Data Governance and other IHC stakeholders articulating business/reporting/data management needs and defining the appropriate technology solutions.

Responsibilities:
Project/Practice Management:
  • Responsible for managing various projects within IHC Data Solutions teams
  • Manage IT staff including Business Analysts
  • Responsible for all aspects of the projects lifecycles including planning, monitoring and reporting in compliance with CMMi standards
  • Provide coaching to staff resources for the applications under direct responsibility
  • Create and maintain project documentation; budget monitoring
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to the senior management and project team
  • Provide guidance and share expertise with the project teams members and sponsors
  • Participate in designing innovative solutions align with bank's informational architecture
  • Facilitate defining and implementing solutions to various data quality defects and sourcing gaps
  • Set, communicate and continuously manage project expectations / success criteria with stakeholders

Business Development:
  • Identify, document business needs and facilitate resolution
  • Specify the workflow & systems enhancements to satisfy business & reporting needs
  • Complete business requirements & functional specifications
  • Participate in various testing cycles, provide support to the end-user
  • Effectively conveys the message in both written and verbal business development discussions

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in Project management / Business Analysis in a financial institution
  • Understanding of information governance principals
  • Solid knowledge of financial industry and related products
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, Clarity, Business Objects & SQL is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms
  • Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment and impact on regulation for the financial industry.
  • Excellent organization, analytical and time management skills
  • Experience in business analysis, strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and creatively address various topics on-hand
  • Ability to work independently and become an effective team member
