This position is for an established support staff in Underwriting, who under moderate supervision, enters new business applications, prepares and sends binding correspondences, and processes and invoices computer generated policies in accordance with company standards to support the Underwriting team.

Education &
Experience Requirements: Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalency
1 - 2 years experience in an administrative or clerical support role, preferably in the general Insurance industry.
Auto Insurance knowledge and experience would be an asset.
Willing to obtain and/or working towards attaining the CIP designation
Must be analytical and detailed oriented.
Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.
Able to work harmoniously in a team environment and adaptable to change
Excellent Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong oral & written communication and interpersonal skills
Possess above average multi-tasking skills when working within tight timelines
Enthusiastic, Self motivated with Initiative and Drive.
Bilingual (English/French) would be a definite asset.


Summary of Position Assist Underwriters in the timely processing of all New and Renewal Submission Activities.
Perform basic Underwriting support functions under the direction of an Underwriter ie. Gather underwriting information utilizing internal and external U/W tools.
Request and perform preliminary review of Inspection reports.
Provide administrative service including all policy document issuance.
Complete Data entry documents for IBC coding purposes, if required by the Insurer.
Handle non-complex endorsements, cancellations & renewals including accurate premium computation.
File maintenance including follow-up for all outstanding U/W data.
Other duties as assigned by management.
