Enterprise Technology and Risk (ETR) is that global technology group that delivers the software and hardware technology solutions that make our businesses run. The team manages the production, operations, and engineering of our data centers, voice and data networking solutions, wireless technologies, server and database operations, desktops, servers and mainframes.This position is with the Enterprise Resource Data Management (ERDM) Group, part of the Enterprise System Management (ESM) department. The ERDM group is responsible for a set of systems used to manage Brokerage's IT inventory and assets data, together with their configuration and operational state. This data is critical for regulatory, operational, and efficiency purposes. We are a global organization with team members spanning three continents. Our clients are internal Brokerage users.We are looking for an experienced Unix/database administrator to configure, support and maintain critical infrastructure software. This role will be responsible of keeping our Unix and database servers plant running smoothly and up to date. A strong Unix foundation, knowledge of servers administration, initiative and willingness to learn are the key skills for this position. In particular, this position is expected to be responsible of managing software to keep track of IT equipment of data centers.Typical tasks include installing new instances, operations and performance monitoring, capacity planning, configuration fine-tuning and resolution of production issues. Responsibilities also include doing research and development for solutions, developing tools and scripts to manage the environment and documenting procedures.

Responsibilities:
Ensure systems availability by addressing outages, issues, etc
Install, configure, administer, optimize and support system servers and related components
Analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve software problems
Coordinate with other technical and business teams to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of systems to meet business demands
Monitor and test system performance
Create and maintain documentation for operational tasks
Deploy new versions of applications
Manage escalated trouble tickets
Perform investigations using a mixture of database queries, log files and process interaction
Notify customers of system issues or failures and carrying out subsequent incident management and problem management.
Act as an escalation contact for first level line of support.
Provide direct support to the development teams for the servers, databases and infrastructure
Share on call support rotation during non-business hours with rest of team
Work closely with regional counterparts to build and leverage tools and standardize procedures

Skills Required:
Experience administering Unix systems
Experience managing databases and knowledge of SQL language
Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
Scripting knowledge / experience (perl, python, shell, etc).
Strong knowledge of systems software / hardware, networks and operating systems.
Strong knowledge of processes and tools utilized for system management, problem reporting, change management and support tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to a high paced and quickly changing environment
Technical documentation writing skills
Experience with change management and software development life cycle
