Payroll Specialist - Quality Assurance

- Monitor for incoming daily timecards, new hire and change transaction paperwork - Communicate daily to appropriate personnel when expected timecards are not received - Log receipt of daily timecards - Provide report of daily timecards received by deadline to appropriate personnel - Perform quality review of timecards, new hire and change transaction paperwork to ensure compliance with company guidelines - Place timecards, new hire and change transaction paperwork not meeting company standards in a rework status - Denote issue(s) on rework timecards, new hire and change transaction paperwork and forward to appropriate personnel for review and correction by communicated deadline - Route timecards, new hire and change transaction paperwork to the appropriate processor queue timely for data entry - Gather and report metrics - Serve as support to other functions within Data Management as needed. This includes the customer service, setup of union new hire transactions, union employee change transactions and check printing/distribution functions..

Education/Experience - Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred - High school diploma or GED required, Bachelors Degree preferred - Basic accounting knowledge preferred - Three to five years multi-state payroll processing experience - Solid understanding and working knowledge of payroll processes and systems, particularly in an union environment - Strong knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations Skills/Competencies: - Intermediate level Microsoft Excel - Microsoft Outlook - Excellent organizational skills - Excellent reading and interpretation skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to maintain confidential information - High degree of professionalism and solid ability in delivering high quality customer service and establishing/maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships. - Excellent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and as a team player - Excellent customer service attitude - Ability to collaborate with team members and other internal business partners - Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. - Ability to investigate, analyze and resolve simple to highly complex problems and escalate where necessary. - Strong telephone and interpersonal skills.
