Building Engineer

Performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, minor alterations and service functions the summer labourer assist with the maintenance at designated buildings and related equipment in a manner which produces a safe, healthy, and clean building environment that satisfies customer needs and ensures building operating efficiency. The expectations of this role are to handle tasks assigned by the Supervisor and do the tasks right the first time. In addition, the Summer laborer will be required to keep up and ask questions where one is not sure, they will also follow the Client safety processes as in filling in a FLRA before each task and submit to the supervisor after every shift.
The goals of this role are to maximize predictive and preventative maintenance activities that will decrease the need for emergency and corrective maintenance, reduce overall maintenance costs, and increase the reliability and appearance of buildings and their associated systems. A minimum of 70% of available time will be spent on operations and maintenance activities, and the remaining 30% on administrative tasks.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 6 months of Building Operation or Stationary Engineer experience.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass required Vulnerable Sector background check. And criminal check
  • Previous exposure and work experience with automated systems (i.e. electrical, fire alarm, mechanical, HVAC, piping, plumbing, landscaping, painting etc.)
