SUMMARY
Client IT/ Infrastructure - Desktop Support is seeking temporary consultants for Windows 10 / Office 16 UPGRADE program.
Consultant will act as a TECHNICAL Project Manager, managedeployments for Windows 10 / Office 16 UPGRADE program

Please note The TECHNICAL Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating teams to achieve a high level of performance in the Windows 10 migration project. This role is responsible for managing a TEAM of PROFESSIONALS including technicians responsible for migrating client USER's OS-es to Windows 10.

this is more of a PROJECT MANAGER role than a technical position, ideally looking for candidates with PM experience working on large Windows (or similar platforms) migrations

MUST BE ARTICULATE, WELL ORGANIZED AND HAVE STRONG PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS. WOULD PREFER TECHNICAL SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING OF WINDOWS/WINDOWS 10

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Technical Project Managers are responsible for managing an enterprise scale Windows 10 migration for over 25,000 end points for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
  • Liaising with business units to schedule migrations.
  • setting up and managing logistics of migrations
  • supporting the program manager in the overall governance of the program
  • providing analytics and reporting on target deployments and application certification
  • working with engineers and end users to resolve compatibility issues
  • The Technical Project Managers will be responsible for developing detailed project documentation to include business requirements, project plans, project schedules, risk mitigation plans, and project status reports/communications.
  • Manages the successful delivery of long-term project(s) with key stakeholders, while prioritizing timelines for delivery and execution.
  • Develops full scale project plans following an established project framework.
  • Assembles and coordinates project staff by working with functional managers and leads to allocate resources and time.
  • Ensures adherence to project schedules; aggressively monitors project budgets; and reallocates resources to avoid budget or schedule variances.
  • Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools and obtains Federal approval for each stage gate and overall project completion.
  • Provides direction and support to assigned project team members and matrixed personnel.
  • Drives project risk management and mitigation through established processes and procedures.
  • Monitors performance of project delivery to ensure alignment to the approved business case, design, and committed timeline.
  • Provides strategic reports for executive leadership, business stakeholders, and IT team as needed.

  • All consultants are required to attend Subway safety training and must wear safety gears (Safety shoes, Helmets, safety eye wear, gloves and flash lights) when entering designated areas where these safety gears are required.
  • Consultant will be doing lifting of computer equipment up to 20 lbs. and must adhere to MTA safety procedures for lifting and safety awareness for performing work on client premises.
DELIVERABLES:
· Manage assigned client IT projects described above according to client IT PMO -PDLC Best Practices. Maintain project master plan including Schedule, Milestones, CAIR logs (Constraints, Assumptions, Issues and Risks) and Lessons learned documents.
· Track action items to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and within budget.

· Develop effective and efficient reporting mechanism for Citrix solutions consistent with MTA IT requirement documents and described in above sections.
· The specification document shall adhere to project standards and Citrix Best practices.
· Provide support for the client-wide Citrix Infrastructure on a 24 x 7 basis as needed.
· Augment the existing staff for critical state of good repair projects that will reduce the ongoing costs of support when complete.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related discipline
  • Windows 10 certification and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS)
  • Project management institute certification, such as PMP
  • ITIL v3 foundation certification
