Technical Writer

Job Summary:
The Technical Writer will collaborate with technical and non-technical staff on key strategic initiatives and participate in a dynamic Agile team environment. The Technical Writer plans, writes, and releases assigned documents (following the published standards) in a web-based wiki documentation tool. Provides support for other services and initiatives as necessary.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Researches, writes and updates documents.
• Researches, creates and updates diagrams and other illustrations.
• Participates in or leads efforts to manage document repositories, standards compliance, and build team and project spaces using a variety of documentation and collaboration tools.
• Tracks and updates assigned tasks in the ticketing system.
• Attends meetings and provides scheduled status reports, as required.
• Identifies, troubleshoots and reports issues with documentation and collaboration tools.
• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Required Related Work Experience:
• Experience writing technical or business documents - 4+ years.
Preferred Related Work Experience:
• Experience using Atlassian applications (primarily JIRA and Confluence) and test case management tools.
• Advanced experience using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Experience with front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Wiki Markup.
