Description: Acts with limited guidance in managing several cross functional project teams and oversees the key deliverables and project milestones of their assigned project teams. Provides end of year performance feedback on team members.

Responsibilities: Serves as the project leader for a complex portfolio of projects, including projects involving NDAs, Clinical Testing, Food Supplements, and/or Medical Devices.
Anticipates project issues, business, technical, and regulatory and recommends project, process, or product improvements that address project issues or emerging risk.
Has strong knowledge in the Project Management profession and personally leads global, complex projects that are critical to delivering innovation and growth to their assigned therapeutic area.
Leverages the new product development process to drive key objectives and results for their assigned projects.
Manages the execution of the key functional deliverables within the project plan by leverage core and extended project team members throughout each development staff.
Partners with all functions globally to ensure delivery of key project team activities against the critical path.
Ensures their assigned projects meet key deliverables within project scope, timing and budget and meets project success criteria.
Ensures project scope change requests are elevated early.
Tracks projects and provides project status updates to senior project sponsors.
Drives resolution of any project issues (e.g. potential delays) & risks and engages the global franchise team or project sponsors to drive resolution as needed.
Proactively identifies any potential or actual delays and proposes prevention and mitigation plans.
Drives successful innovation development and project launch for assigned projects with an understanding of how assigned projects support the key business needs for the category.
Drives continuous improvements in Project Management (efficiencies and consistency).
Implements best practices and facilitates lessons learned and new standards for the department.
Accountable for budget management and forecasting for their assigned growth portfolio of projects.
May serve as the Project Management representative on explore teams in order to support feasibility assessment of key innovations ideas.
May with limited management oversight lead other department initiatives including, but not limited to Portfolio Project Management process refinement/development, new business technology solutions, or other department initiatives.

Yrs of Experience:
7 to 10 years of Project Management experience preferably in the health care, medical research, CRO, Pharmaceutical, Device or technology setting. In depth knowledge of, and skill in applying, applicable clinical research regulatory requirements; i.e., Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines and understanding of the clinical development process (Phase I-IV, post marketing, abstraction protocols and/or REMS). The ability to learn quickly, multi-task and prioritize are essential including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage multi-functional teams. Must be proficient in MS Office applications. Management and mentoring experience preferred. Must be hard-working and have the ability to work very independently. Must have creative problem solving skills; very strong written, verbal communication skills. Significant leadership skills in an international environment and customer service oriented. Demonstrated success in Project Management. Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating cross-functional global teams in a matrixed environment required. Ability to travel and attend international meetings

Education:
Masters degree or a Bachelors degree and equivalent experience in Science/related Health Field.
Preferred Education, MS or MPH.
