Risk & Permanent Control Officer

Within the CIB Global Markets Americas business, the OPC & TAC Coordination team is in charge of Operational Risk Management and Permanent Control. As the business and regulatory landscape are transforming, the team contributes to grow the business in a sustainable way. As part of the COO group, it works with Trading, Sales, Structuring and all the partner functions including Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Legal.
We are looking for an experienced individual to help drive change in and outside the team, deliver high quality results, and develop trust and credibility with all the partners.




Responsibilities:

Operational Risk management:
  • Analyze and report operational risk incidents
  • Design and coordinate remediation actions to improve processes and prevent incidents
  • Analyze potential risk through Risk Control Self Assessments in line with Basel regulation
  • Contribute to CCAR scenario analysis

Permanent Control:
  • Analyse the permanent control framework and design improvements where relevant
  • Develop and monitor key risk indicators and other management information tools
  • Support and improve the front office control reporting tool
  • Follow-up on recommendations from internal or external audits
  • Prepares regular and ad-hoc reports for senior management and regulators

Governance:
  • Organize or contribute to global and regional committees overseeing the business.
  • Prepare minutes and follow-up on decisions made until they are implemented

Approval of New Activities and Exceptional Transactions (NAC/TAC):
  • Help coordinate approval process in compliance with the applicable procedures and best practices
  • Help the business design each project, review the documentation and advise all the partners
  • Document and track implementation of conditions when applicable

Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of operational risk management best practices and regulations
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a capital markets environment
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and high quality standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to approach complex problems with a global perspective, international experience a plus
  • Autonomy and ability to work as part of a multicultural team
  • Creativity and capacity to present complex ideas clearly
