Requirements: Associate degree in Engineering or Science or 2 years of college with Engineering or Science coursework

Experience: Introductory = 0-2 years in lab or testing with Associate degree; Contributor = 3-5 years in lab or testing with Associate degree; Leadership = 5-8 years in lab or testing with Associate degree;

Additional Requirements: Ability to lift/handle batteries weighing 25-160 lbs. Percentage of lifting based on weight is as follows: 60% = 43-45 lbs.; 20% = 65 lbs.; 10% = 25-30 lbs. May require repetitive lifting throughout the day.
Working Conditions: Position is in a test lab environment with some exposure to lead (minimal), acid and/or other hazardous material.Responsibility Level: Under general supervision is responsible for the performance of routine quality control and engineering testing. Operates with a good working knowledge of, and is competent in the methods, procedures, and interpretation of results of routine quality control and engineering testing.

Typical Duties: Conducts electrical tests and customer procedures. Tears down batteries. Conducts mechanical defect analysis of batteries. Records and reports results. Communicates with test originator on test progress. Conducts battery life and special testing according to procedures. Administers sales of batteries to employees and customers. Performs loading dock activities (i.e., load/unload trucks, scrap skids, communicate to battery recipients) and general housekeeping duties. Enters results of tests on PC. Performs a variety of miscellaneous PC activities. Performs proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices. Understands and interprets customer and industry specifications. Related duties as assigned.
