Server Side Java Developer
Job Description – Rates eTrading ClientMatch Java Developer
Job Purpose:
Rates eTrading Algo Technology team supports Client Internal Market Making, Algorithmic Trading, and internal matching engine. We're seeking strong Java developers to work on the ClientMatch component.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for server side applications design & development.
• Development of common, reusable components and services
• Responsible for creating high performance, low latency applications leveraging existing Client framework
• Working with core team to manage and support application.
• Assist the client in the planning of overall application strategy
Knowledge/Experience:
• Solid understanding of service architecture and high performance, low latency, and multi-threading techniques
• Experience architecting and designing high performance server side components.
• At least 5+ years experience using Java to develop service oriented applications
• Good experience with communication and caching
• Design and develop the core services ensuring strong reliability, scalability and performance
• Understanding of good design principles and ability to adhere to complex design

Skills:
• Extensive hand-coding expertise in Core Java
  • Strong Software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, Object-Oriented programming, architecture, algorithms, and problem-solving skills
• Prior experience with building distributed, multi-tier applications is highly desirable
• Relish tackling new challenges, paying attention to details, and, ultimately, growing professionally.

Qualifications:
Strong academic record, ideally with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related technical or quantitative discipline. Demonstrable success in designing and delivering multi-tiered applications
