On-Board has a great opportunity for a CNC Machinist.  Company is located in North Houston near FM 249 & Beltway 8 North.

Primary Function: In need of an experienced CNC machinist. Looking for a person who can set up, program and operate. Mazak HCN 6000, Mazak QT250MS, Haas VF3 YT mill, Haas TM 2Pmill and Haas TL3W lathe.
Tools, Equipment and Machines Used:
  • Mazak HCN 6000, Mazak QT250MS, Haas VF3 YT mill, Haas TM 2P mill and Haas TL3W lathe
  • Standard office machines.
  • Computer software applications.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Responsible for programming mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Responsible for setting up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.Ø Responsible for verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international and English standards of measurement.
  • Responsible for maintaining specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Ø Responsible for maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Responsible for maintaining continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Responsible for updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Responsible for accomplishing organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Qualifications :
  • 5+ years experience
  • Familiarity on a variety of manual lathes and VTL.
  • Knowledge of valve machining strongly preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency.
