Clinical Engineer for the Requirements Engineering team

The Clinical Workflow Applications team, within our client, delivers workflow efficiency and patient safety improvements within the hospital. We work on solutions used at the point of care, in the pharmacy, the operating room, and throughout the hospital. Our solutions enable clinical workers to be more efficient whether they’re using a desktop, mobile device, or reports delivered to their inbox. Job Description:

You will need to be able to engage with customers, business stakeholders, and technical staff on a daily basis. You will help to define needs with the goal to create, evolve, and manage software requirements supporting clinical workflow, interoperability, common services, security, and product implementation support. You will have customer facing opportunities with the need to discuss in-progress development. You will be called on as a subject matter expert who can speak to specifics of the applications.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflow i.e.; Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab and Blood Bank
  • Experience with process analysis - current processes, and analyzing those processes for improvement opportunities based on LEAN, Flow/Bottleneck, Root Cause, and other analysis techniques
  • Make sound recommendations about business change based on client, regulatory, best practice and market needs
  • Working knowledge of HL7 Interfacing Standards
  • Apply clinical expertise to application development and provide project teams with information to make sound decisions related to clinical workflow
Required Qualifications
  • Acute health care experience required (Physician, Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab, and Respiratory)
  • Clinically educated, BA/BS required, Masters preferred
  • Outgoing personality with the willingness to solve problems, contribute to intelligent discussions and loves a challenge
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical device software development
  • Clinical Analytics experience in health care
  •  Familiarity with the mobile space
  • Tools: MS Office Suite, MS Visio, Team Foundation Server (TFS), SAP, Android, iOS
