Hiring Research Support Associate
On-Board Services, a Family-Owned U.S. Based Professional Staffing and Search Firm, is in search for a Research Support Associate for Leading Chemical Fortune 500 Client in  Johnston, IA 50131. This is a new position, and will be working on a 7 month contract.

The Research Support Associate will be responsible for completing tasks associated with field research and lab experiments. Work will be completed outside and inside.  Work conditions may be normal to hot, humid and muddy. Training will be provided for this role.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5 PM
Location: Johnston, IA 50131

  • Molecular biology or laboratory experience is required
  • Molecular biology/genetics/chemistry experience.
  • Experience working in a lab environment and liquid handlers with aseptic techniques are preferred
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, vast attention to detail, and robust organization skills
  • This position requires great communication skills and the ability to work with a team
  • Lift over 60 lbs
Research workers will be responsible for duties such as:
  • Detailed data collection and data management to completion according to specific procedures, hand picking, seed shelling/filling, lab tool cleaning, lifting more than 40 pounds, tissue sampling plants in field and greenhouse.
  • Research Associates will be responsible for hand picking corn, tissue sampling corn plants in field, weeding fields, corn pollinating in corn fields, some lab work associated with agriculture research, seed filling, or in a greenhouse
  • Assist in research projects that focus on improving the growth, lifecycle and productivity of greenhouse, growth chamber or field grown plants.
  • Individual must display good communication skills, a high degree of self- motivation and work well independently as well as a team member with minimal supervision.
  • Perform laboratory and greenhouse duties to support and execute everyday tasks in the laboratory, growth chamber and greenhouse.
